David White Associates is delivering commercial services on a variety of significant social housing projects including:

Berneslai Homes
Berneslai Homes is an arms length management organisation (ALMO) set up in December 2002 to manage around 22,000 council homes in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

David White Associates has been successful in securing a rolling commission from Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council to carry out Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) evaluation, cost authentication and valuation processes for Berneslai Homes. Working with Keepmoat plc, Lovell Partnerships plc, Inspace Partnerships Ltd and Mears Group Plc, the contract will raise the housing stock to the Decent Homes Standard throughout the borough of Barnsley. The dwellings within David White Associates' commission, which began in 2004, are currently valued at approximately £31 million for years 1 and 2 and will see improvements made to in excess of 2000 homes.

The appropriate improvements to the properties are derived from detailed surveys identifying:

• Bathroom replacement
• Cavity wall and roof insulation
• Central heating installation, upgrade or new boiler only
• External structural repairs
• Full or partial rewire
• Kitchen replacement
• Landscaping works
• New external doors
• New PVC windows
• Path replacement or repair
• Replacement fencing
• Replacement of rainwater goods, soffits and fascias
• Structural repairs

Yorkshire Transformations Ltd
Yorkshire Transformations is a partnership between Mowlem Plc, the Halifax Bank of Scotland and Yorkshire Housing Group that is transforming the face of Swarcliffe, Leeds. The scheme  includes improving rented and owned homes together with the infrastructure and environment.

The Plans for this £42million construction PFI scheme include:

• New windows, new heating systems and new kitchens and bathrooms
• Improvements to the electrical installations, structure, external appearance and off-road parking zones
• A new environmental road layout
• A new centre for the estate, with shops and new neighbourhood office.
  
• Environmental landscaping works

Operating from their Elland Road, Leeds office, Mowlem Plc is  also acting in the capacity of building contractor to the SPV company, Yorkshire Transformations Ltd, and for whom David White Associates was commissioned to deliver pre-contract services, including:

• Analysing budgets
• Cash flow forecast preparation
• Subcontract procurement
• Valuations
